Amaretti is a traditional Italian cookies originated from Saronno, a commune of Lombardy region in Italy. These almond cookies are the Italian take of French Macaroons. The challenge was to re-introduce such a traditional style products to the modern Asian market.
The pilot project was a set of packaging for two assorted flavors, berries and chocolate mix.
The idea was to use a varied color coding system on each flavor for an easy identification, while bringing an appealing visual on the shelfs.
The box was designed with simple illustrations and a delightful typography combination of the traditional modern serif and san serif, delivering the idea on how a traditional piece packed for modern market nowadays.
The products are individually packed on a paper tray inside the box, giving them a luxury feel, suitable for gifts or a nice afternoon tea companion.
Printed in 2 spot colors with black ink, while added with the spot UV finishing applied on the front side to highlight the typography and blind spot technique on the back for the illustration – giving the design a lavish vibe with an attractive vibrant color, while keeping the production cost relatively low.
